Eepoksessa käytetyistä valokuvista yli puolet on C.G.E. Mannerheimin ottamia. Professori Prior kertoo tutkimuksestaan ja esittelee Mannerheimin kuvia.

”Dr. Daniel Prior, a professor of history from Miami University (U.S.), is
stopping in Ruovesi after attending a folklore conference at the University
of Helsinki. He is the translator of The Memorial Feast for Kökötöy Khan: A
Kirghiz Epic Poem in the Manas Tradition by the oral bard Saghïmbay Orozbaq
uulu, published in London last year in the Penguin Classics series. The
Central Asian epic poem Manas was composed and recorded in a manner
comparable to the Kalevala. Prior’s book is illustrated with photographs
of Central Asian peoples taken in the early twentieth century by the C. G.
E. Mannerheim Central Asian Expedition. Daniel Prior will introduce the
epic, read from the translation, show some of the Mannerheim photographs,
and discuss comparisons between Kalevala and  Manas. Event is in
